Some people win at blackjack and some people lose at blackjack. It’s the same game but some people just can’t get the hang of the game. The game is fairly simple in its concept but along the way people get caught up in the game, its speed and its subtleties. A few blackjack tips will go a long way toward not finding your chip pile falling at an exponential rate, but you’ll need to practice, pay attention and have just a tiny bit of luck.
Concept and rules of blackjack
The primary concept of blackjack is about as simple as it gets, add together the values of the cards you are dealt so that they add as close to or exactly 21 without the count going over 21. Twenty one is the best number to have unless the dealer has it too. The dealer wins when the both of you have 21. Each card counts as its own value 2-10. Face cards count 10 and aces count either 1 or 11. You can take a card at any point until your count exceeds 21 at which point you lose. The dealer must take a card until his cards that face up total 16 or more. He must stop taking cards at this point. An ace and a face card as the first two cards you get is called blackjack.
Simple strategy means simple math
Starting out from a knowledge base of zero consider how many of each card there are in a deck of cards. Four of a kind for numbers 2-10 = 40 cards- There are four types of face cards each having four cards in the deck equaling 16 cards. There are 4 aces and four cards. This means that there are 24 cards of 10 or more point, almost half the deck.
Trying to count blackjack
With almost half the deck having a value of 10 or above, the chances that you’ll get a 10 point card are fairly god. This means keeping track of how many 10 point cards have been dealt thought the entire time that one deck of cards is being used (sometimes two decks are used.)As the ten point cards are used you may have more or less luck of either getting closer too or not going over 21.
Playing the odds
Just say you happen to be playing with one deck of cards. You have played several hands or blackjack and thirteen 10 point cards have been played. If front of you there are 12 points. The chances of you drawing a ten point card have gone down by 50 percent. If you have kept track or all the other cards in the same way you have kept track of the 10 point cards you can see whether to hit or stick. This is how you count blackjack. Since keeping true track of each card value is fairly difficult try grouping values; 2-4, 5-7 and 8-9. If you assign a number to each group you will have an idea of your particular situation and the likelihood of going over or hitting 21. To truly understand counting blackjack is a bit more difficult but if you keep track in these groups you’ll have a better idea of whether to hit or stand.
